Dr. Prashanth sir,

I would like to clarify point 2 mentioned- Lack of interaction in e learning

---The students can talk with their mentors online (ex- Skype call, etc) . This way there can be interaction.

Thank you,

Sujith sir,

I would like to give a clarification to one of the points mentioned - Some don’t know how to use them, and some don’t care about them.

---Don't know is not an excuse. Now a days every thing is getting online. Right from the bill payments , dispatching the medical reports, etc. Newly there is a system of online correction of the answer papers. Most of the senior faculty though they are facing a problem in online system of corrections are still managing to cope up with the newer system. Then the younger generations should not find an excuse.

Thank you,

Vijaya madam,

I would like to clarify few points -

Sharing a lot of text leading to a large amount of reading from the screen

Time consumption –e learning consumes a lot of time

Lack of high quality and relevant content

Failure to recognize the target audience

E-learning diminishes creativity

----Content of the topic is delivered in such a way that the students can easily understand and grasp the relevant points( must know areas)

-----e- learning does not consume lot of time. In fact it saves a lot of time

----It is highly beneficial to the slow learners as they can go through the discussion any number of times which is not possible in traditional teaching.

Thank you,

Regards,

Vardendra sir,

I would like to clarify few points mentioned-Lack of flexibility in the module and No self-discipline in the learning process.

e learning module can be designed in such a way by giving fixed time period for the students to view the discussion and also answer to the questions provided. By doing this the students can revise the topic any number of times with in the duration provided. This give the flexibility of the module and can induce self discipline in the student( as he/she will be answering to the questions with in specified time duration)

Thank you,

Vijayetha madam,

I would like to clarify the first point- Highly motivated students can only cope up with the E-learning. Personal attention and monitoring is requires for other students

--------e- learning is not just for motivated and fast learners. In fact it creates a motivation for the students to learn by using latest technology. Slow learners are highly benefited by this. As the students can watch and hear to the explanation to any number of times until they understand.

We cant say how many students grasp all the points conveyed by the teacher in the classroom.Slow learners will definitely left behind in regular classroom teaching.

Thank you,

Dear Anupamma madam,

I would like to clarify one of your points - Technology may be intimidating, confusing or simply frustating

Answer -Your point is valid initially , when we have to adopt a new change. With the time and advancement in science we need to keep pace with it.

Any thing new initially seems to be impossible. In fact its not that tough to get used to the newer technology.

Thank you,

Dr. Geeta madam,

I would like to answer the question - that practical skills are developed only by demonstrations

In e learning the demonstrations can be done i the form of a video and the main advantage is it can be viewed any number of times , which is not possible with the live demonstrations( which can be only once )

Thank you,

Dear all,

My inputs for the question 2 thread 1.2

(eLearning is the need of the hour)

The latest technology has revolutionized learning. In the 21st century, people are more centric towards learning.

Here are the reasons why eLearning is important :

Accessible Anywhere and Anytime: The internet offers the logical solution for an organization's training goals. Over 80% of professional employees already rely on the computers for learning. Nowadays, technical issues like standards, access and infrastructure, don't matter much for organizations. The development of the World Wide Web, corporate networks and high-speed computers make learning available to people 24 hours and 7 days worldwide. It enables organizations to share training information to multiple locations conveniently.

Cost Savings: When delivered through digital solutions, training is less costly. The top benefit of eLearning is that it diminishes the expense of getting professionals in the same place. The online eLearning courses can be spread out over many days or weeks so that organizations would not lose their employees for entire days. Employees can improve their performance and utilize their time effectively and efficiently.

Timely Access to Timely Information: Web-based products let professionals to update materials globally without any delay. It keeps content consistent and gives employees instant access to the latest information. Information can be acquired in a timely manner.

Increase Productivity: It's no secret that online learning is not confined by geography or time. With eLearning, you can learn more with less. Online learning is an intuitive way to offer latest tools and skills to employees to help them enhance their performance and productivity.

Standardization: The best thing about eLearning is that it lets you create a standardized process in the delivery of content. It also lowers delivery time. Keep in mind that eLearning deliver consistent content.

Lower Employee Turnover Rates: Happy employees are those who remain loyal to your organization. Employees can fulfill their professional goals and can improve their work performance with the online access to training and learning modules. They can also pinpoint the fields they need to work on to become better employees for your organization.

Quick Training Updates: Latest updates are quite simple with online training sessions. With online learning, you can easily stay up-to-date with policies.

Eliminate the Requirement for In-House Instructors: Believe it or not, one of the top advantages of online training is that there is no requirement for an in-house instructor. It implies that you need not to worry about the travel or accommodation for the instructor and any other facilities.

Improve Knowledge Retention: When employees learn in an engaging environment, then it leads to enhanced knowledge and skill set retention. Providing them with interactive and reality-based scenarios allows you to grab the information effectively and efficiently.

Persuade Sharing: The base of a learning community is built on sharing your knowledge with others. So, adding a forum or wiki adds value to your online learning. Based on how the course is prepared, you can persuade sharing of resources and insight acquired from the online eLearning courses. eLearning is the cost-effective way to produce great results in an organization. It's important to use it effectively to improve productivity.
