Todays generation is very fast at learning the technology and usage of gadgets.

Knowledge retention is maximised by interest, repeatability, proper understanding of content. Even though students have the provision of practical exposure, clinical exposure towards patients in our setup, only those students whose motivation level is high will take advantage of these things. other students just attend passively even though we present them the real life scenario. So it really matters whether student is motivated or no. When student is motivated, he can very well engage himself better in e learning and do well.

I would like to disagree with many.

Development of case scenarios - is actually more and easily managed in digital media with more options and explanations than with real ones.

Even now when many of the teachers start planning any cases most of them refer to digital media for variety rather than going by their experiences, because you get more of it with wide experiences shared by all rather than going by individual experiences.

Motivation level is considered to be more among students entering medical field in general looking into the effort taken by them to get entry into this field.

Even though motivation level is found less during admission, it gradually increases as students move ahead in their professional years.

I would like to clarify the point.

Providing autonomy to learners is a very important aspect of motivation of students towards learning.

Mentor by the side in e learning suits better than leader in the front as in conventional learning for providing autonomy to students.

Once students are given their autonomy it builds their motivation to learn and the cycle of independent learning begins. Intrinsic motivation plays a very important part of medical students for learning which is provided by autonomy.

Its not as difficult as projected for present generation to get acquainted with digital media.

Good audiovisual aids can definitely help learners to get skills.

Even the communications skills can be learnt by Cinemeducation.

Children learn very easily by looking at the media.

Its better we use this technology to make learners learn easily and no need to forcethem to participate in classroom teaching.
